GENERALS’ CLOSER, PRYOR TO TACOMA HIGHLIGHTS MOVES
Jackson activates LHP Mauricio Robles and LHP Steve Garrison
JACKSON, TENN. (MAY 7, 2012) – The Seattle Mariners have made the following roster moves that affects the Jackson Generals roster. RHP Stephen Pryor has been promoted to Triple-A Tacoma and LHPMauricio Robles comes to Jackson from Tacoma. Also, LHP Steve Garrison has been activated from the disabled list and RHP Moises Hernandez has been placed on the disabled list. Today’s moves are the first moves affecting Jackson since April 21.

PRYOR, 22, n his last 13 games the Generals closer leaves Jackson having tossed 15.0 consecutive scoreless innings and has gone is 7-for-7 in save opportunities. During this stretch he has limited opponents to a .098 (5x51) while walking 4 and striking out 23. Overall this season he is 1-0 with 7 saves and a 1.13 ERA (2 ER, 16.0 IP) in 11 relief appearances. ROBLES, 23, returns to Jackson having spent parts of the 2009-2011 seasons in the “hub city”. Robles was off to a slow start this season for Tacoma, going 0-3 in 6 games, 5 starts with a 9.86 ERA in 21 innings. During the 2011 season Robles made only 10 starts combined between A High Desert, AA Jackson and AAA Tacoma and combined to go 1-5 with a 8.91 ERA (32 ER, 32.1 IP) in injury-riddled season. Robles joins current Generals Danny Hultzen, Yoervis Medina and Johermyn Chavez as members of the Mariners 40-man roster.
GARRISON, 25, returns from disabled list today after being placed on the DL on April 16. Garrison is 1-0, having not allowed a run in two appearances covering 4.1 innings.
HERNANDEZ, 28, has been placed on the 7-day DL today. Hernandez is 1-0, with a 0.69 ERA (1ER/13IP) this season for the Generals. The righty from Venezuela is the older brother of Mariners starter Felix Hernandez.
